Abstract
This paper presents a winding configuration design algorithm for transmitter coils in an inductive power transfer (IPT) system to overcome the power transfer shift from the receiver's position shift. The Algorithm can deal with the winding configuration design for the air-core coils and the coils with a magnetic shield based on the magnetic flux-density modeling. The detailed design considerations and the homogeneous-flux winding configuration evaluation will be discussed in the final paper. The proposed design algorithm is implemented in the case study, and the results are verified by finite-element-analysis (FEA) simulation and experimental results.
